Project steps

1st step Case studies

During  the research  done for Constellation  groundwork, we took note  that few figures and studies  are available dealing with NEET youngsters like indicators what makes youngsters become NEET. We were interested in to focus on real case situations that can easily pull youngsters into NEET group.

By collecting interviews of youngsters from Latvia, Slovenia and Croatia who have at least one time become NEET we gather case studies from real life. Interviews gave learnings and awareness in what kind of situations youngsters are pulled to becoming NEET. Also what kind of training tools are needed to prevent youngsters to become NEET.

The key point of collecting stories is to examine key points or experience what youngsters need to deal with it and how others can avoid the same experience. Also we can say that being NEET is a learning experience, what kind of learnings youngsters have taken and what other youngsters can learn from it and deal with this situation.

All these key points what have driven youngsters to become NEET are analyzed in a report from Latvia, Slovenia and Croatia.

There is a long version of the research and short one with findings and proposals, as well infographics that represents key insights from the case studies.

2nd step Educational Resource Kit

The aim of the Educational Resource Kit is to provide youth workers and educators with tools, how to prevent youngsters to become NEET youngsters.

Educational Resource Kit provides methods and tools that help educators and youth workers to prevent youngsters to become NEET. There are two types of methodologies – solution focused coaching and system approach. Coaching tools are more focused to set the aims and find solutions in concrete situations rather system approach helps to realize how to create different kind of relationship. Our first relationship is connected with our family.

In order to develop Education Resource Kit there are implemented focus group meetings with youngsters and youth workers and educators in Latvia, Slovenia and Croatia.

Till know partners have been working for three and half months and have implemented 20 meetings with potential NEET youngsters and 14 meetings with educators. Totally there are involved 258 potential NEET youngsters and 35 educators.

3rd step E-assistant

E-assistant is an online tool that helps youth workers and educators to evaluate how patterns of potential NEET youngsters how likely they can become NEET and in which area or topics educator or teacher needs to make the prevention work. Using E-assistant youngsters can prevent themselves from own patterns. They are conscious about their own ways of thinking and behaving that is the basics of pattern. They can learn from their own decision in preventative way. Even more to develop personal solutions, thoughts, ideas, behaviour for possible solutions in case once they become NEET. Youngsters can learn from each other by building up collective solutions through group discussions.
